This Privacy Policy explains how Bhakti ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use our website https://bhakti.shronix.in and our Android application Bhakti — Bhajan Sangrah (package com.shronix.bhakti) (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this policy. This policy is kept consistent with the Data safety section declared on our Google Play listing.
1. Information we collect
You can browse and read most content without signing in and without giving any personal information. We collect the following only as needed:
- Account information (optional). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, Google account ID and profile photo from Google. Sign-in is only required to save favourites, create lists, add notes, and submit content.
- Mobile number (optional). If you add a mobile number to your profile or use it to request a detailed printed/PDF Kundli report, we store that number so we (or an authorised operator) can contact you about your request. It is not used for advertising and is not sold.
- Content you create. Bhajans you submit (title, lyrics, poet, category, YouTube link), images you upload (including images used for text recognition/OCR), stories, notes, lists and favourites.
- Photos & media (only when you choose). If you pick a photo (for a profile image, a Kundli cover, or an image for text recognition), the app accesses only the image you select through the system picker. We do not scan or read your whole gallery.
- Microphone / voice input (only when you choose). If you tap the voice-search button, the app uses your device microphone so you can search by speaking. Speech is converted to text by your device's speech-recognition service; we do not record, store, or upload raw audio, and the microphone is used only for that moment.
- Janm Kundli / astrology details. When you use the Kundli, Kundli Milan, Prashna or Panchang features you enter birth details (name, date of birth, time of birth and birth place / location). These are used only to compute your chart, matching or panchang and to generate the on-screen result or PDF. We do not sell these details or use them for advertising.
- Approximate location. With your permission, the app uses your approximate location (we do not request precise/GPS location) to show the correct panchang, festivals, sunrise/sunset and place look-ups. You can decline and enter a place manually instead.
- Device & usage data. App version, device model and operating-system version, IP address, and basic diagnostic/usage information to keep the app working and to improve it.
- Advertising identifier. The advertising ID and related identifiers used by our ad partner (see "Advertising" below) to show and measure ads.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, a device notification token so we can send devotional and app updates. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.

Where a permission is sensitive (location, microphone, photos), the app first shows an in-app explanation and asks for your consent through the Android permission prompt before any data is accessed. Declining does not stop you from using the rest of the app.
3. How we use information
- To provide and operate the Service (login, favourites, lists, uploads, kundli/panchang, notifications, voice search).
- To respond to your requests (for example, a detailed Kundli report you ask for).
- To review and moderate content submitted by users before it is published.
- To display advertisements and to keep the Service free.
- To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and to improve features and content.
4. How information is shared
We do not sell your personal or sensitive information, and we do not share it with third parties except:
- Google Sign-In — to authenticate your account (governed by Google's Privacy Policy).
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) — our advertising provider, which may use device/advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
- YouTube — bhajan videos are embedded from / opened on YouTube, operated by Google.
- Service providers — hosting and infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf under confidentiality.
- Legal — where required by law, or to protect our rights and the safety of users.
5. Advertising
To keep the Service free we display advertisements through Google AdMob. Ad networks may use cookies and advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads. In regions where it is required (e.g. the EEA/UK), we show a consent dialog (Google User Messaging Platform) so you can choose personalised or non-personalised ads. You can also reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings, and manage Google ad personalisation at Google Ads Settings.
6. Data retention & deletion
We keep your account information while your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time — from inside the app (Account → Delete Account) or via our Account & Data Deletion web page. Kundli birth details are processed to generate your result and are not retained on a per-user basis for marketing.
7. Security
All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, and authentication tokens are stored securely. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your data.
8. Children
The Service is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your choices & rights
- Access or update your profile within the app.
- Delete your account and data — see Account & Data Deletion.
- Grant or revoke location, microphone and photo permissions in your device settings.
- Turn off notifications in your device settings.
- Opt out of personalised ads in your device settings.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and, where required, we will keep the Google Play Data safety section consistent with it.
